Our Animals - Our Pride
The black angus has long been known for tender, rich flavorful meat. Their primary grass diet enhances both. The calves are weaned from their mother at 500 lbs or over, producing a strong, independent immune system able to finish without the use of drugs or antibiotics. They are calm, living free range in these rich pastures.
Did you know that cattle have a "baby sitting" system? Moms can leave their little one with another cow and go off to eat or rest. They take turns watching each others calves. Also, a cow can "tell" her calf to "stay put". That calf WILL NOT move until she says it's "ok". The calf will die of dehydration, predators, or run over by a truck before it moves without its mothers permission.
